International Tier 2 Junior Curling Tournament Announced in Baden

Just one week after the EJCT Baden junior elite competition, the curling centre in Baden will once again welcome young teams from across Switzerland and abroad. On 12–13 September 2026, the International Tier 2 Junior Curling Tournament will take place — offering developing teams an exciting opportunity to compete, learn, and gain valuable tournament experience.

Applications for the event are now open, inviting junior teams who are on their way toward competitive curling to take part in a friendly but ambitious international competition.

A Tournament for Developing Competitive Teams

While the EJCT Baden tournament brings together some of the world’s top junior teams, the Tier 2 Tournament is designed specifically for athletes and teams who are still building their competitive experience.

The event aims to provide a supportive and motivating environment where teams can test themselves in international competition, improve their game, and enjoy a full weekend of curling.

Whether teams are entering their first international event or looking for additional high-quality matches early in the season, the Tier 2 tournament offers the perfect stage.

REGISTRATION FOR TIER 2

Two Strength Levels for Balanced Competition

To ensure exciting and fair matches, the tournament will be played in two strength levels.

Teams will be grouped according to their experience and competitive level, creating balanced games and an enjoyable tournament for everyone involved.

Unlike many junior events, boys’ and girls’ teams compete together, with the division based purely on playing strength. This format allows more teams to participate while ensuring that every match remains competitive and engaging.

Four Guaranteed Games

Every team entering the tournament is guaranteed at least four games over the two-day event.

This ensures that all participants gain valuable match experience while making the trip to Baden worthwhile for players, coaches, and supporters alike.

The compact weekend format also makes the tournament attractive for teams travelling from different regions or neighbouring countries.

International Spirit and Learning Experience

Just like the EJCT Baden tournament, the Tier 2 event embraces the spirit of junior curling: development, sportsmanship, and fun.

The goal is to create an environment where young athletes can:

  • Gain international competition experience
  • Play against teams of similar strength levels
  • Improve tactical and technical skills
  • Build friendships across clubs and countries

For many teams, tournaments like this are an important step on the path toward higher-level competitive curling.

A Perfect Follow-Up Weekend in Baden

With the EJCT Baden taking place the week before, the Tier 2 tournament also offers a great opportunity for teams who want to extend their stay or return to Baden for another weekend of curling.

Together, the two tournaments create two consecutive weekends of junior curling in Baden, bringing together athletes at different stages of their development.
